Ruined City

In the Northern Pass towers the city of Elowen, the glittering guardian between the Empire of Aloquis and the Kingdoms of Immra. It stands proud and prosperous, never dreaming its dark past was coming to call…
On a bright winter’s day a stranger arrives, bearing a secret and a dark blight of ruin descends over the city.
It was the day the world changed for the people of Elowen.
The day their existence turned into a recurring nightmare.
Winter’s Bane.

Uncover the secrets that haunt the streets of Elowen as twelve tales unfold the story of this cursed city.

Fractured Vision

Predict sound bytes, troglodytes,
new age, that alternate spin
Hunkered down against parasites
may the unaware world begin

New age, that alternate spin
disregard inconvenient veracity
May the unaware world begin
on the coattails of hapless audacity

Disregard inconvenient veracity,
hunkered down against parasites
On the coattails of hapless audacity
predict sound bytes, troglodytes

National Poetry Month: To You Alone

To You Alone

To you alone I write
pen my thoughts and heart
Here, alone, at night

Faithful words, yet, finite
my love’s flawless art
To you alone I write

My emotions, they take flight
round and round they dart
Here, alone, at night

I still love you, oh, despite
betrayal and worlds apart
To you alone I write

How I played your acolyte,
now last regrets I chart
Here, alone, at night

I sigh, under candlelight
and no wisdom I impart
To you alone I write
Here, alone, at night

National Poetry Month: Five Flights Up

Five Flights Up

Climbing, you hear creaks in the staircase
with a railing polished smooth from wear
Ascending the same five flights everyday

You wonder, stuck in this daily repetition,
why your perfect world came crashing in
Climbing, you hear creaks in the staircase

Step by step, how life seems these days
Hardship, drudgery, always stairs to climb
with a railing polished smooth from wear

Laughter floats downward, you remember
You had a family once, now you are alone
Ascending the same five flights everyday

National Poetry Month: Soul’s Revelry

Soul’s Revelry

Past the knoll,
music soothes a yearning soul
Bring your mirth, and wine to sup
Raise your cup and fill your bowl

Glimpse the Fae,
come to dance the gloaming grey
Join the step, be swept along
Heed the song, do come and play

Dawn will toll,
remember not, time they stole
Their secrets kept, that’s the rule
The price you’ll give, past the knoll

National Poetry Month: What It Takes

What It Takes

Will the day break cold?
Shattering all regretful aches?
Will the world turn old?

Will I remain steadfast bold?
Do whatever consequence takes?
Will the day break cold?

Will I dance in sunshine gold?
Or drown in all the bitter stakes?
Will the world turn old?

What am I fated to behold?
Empty hands or little cakes?
Will the day break cold?

Do I play the cards I hold?
Forever counting my mistakes?
Will the world turn old?

And here I stand, frayed, uncontrolled
while sanity dies and reason quakes
Will the day break cold?
Will the world turn old?
